Milwaukee Hospital Sued For Woman's Death In Abortion Of Downs Baby
The widower of a 35-year-old woman, LINDA BOOM of Bayside, Wisconsin, is suing a
Milwaukee hospital for malpractice. After chemicals intended to kill her unborn
child were instead injected into her bloodstream, within 36 hours she died from
heart damage according to an autopsy performed by the Milwaukee County Medical
Examiner’s office. According to Attorney Patrick Dunphy’s statement to a
jury: "IN LINDA’S MIND, DOWN SYNDROME MEANT NO LIFE."
Payment For Abortion Pill (RU-486) Will Not Be Covered By Government
The Health & Human Services Dept. told State Medicaid directors that RU-486,
like abortions, will only be covered when a pregnancy results from rape or
incest or when a woman’s life is in jeopardy: "BECAUSE THIS IS AN ABORTION DRUG,
THE SAME RESTRICTIONS HAVE TO APPLY TO IT." Department spokesman Campbell Gardett
stated: "THIS IS JUST TAKING THE LAW AND APPLYING IT AS WE’RE REQUIRED TO DO."
Abortion Survey Percentages
African-Americans comprise 12% of the population, but they account for 29% of all
abortions. Hispanic Americans make up 11% of the population and account for 20% of
the abortions. Catholics make up 31% of the population and account for 31% of all
abortions. Protestants are 54% and account for 37% of abortions. Those women
who profess no religion are 6% of the population, but obtain 24% of the total number
of abortions. (Alan Guttmacher Institute survey published by Peter Brimelow in FORBES.)
70 Percent Of Russian Pregnancies End In Abortion
Spanning 11 time zones from the Baltic Sea to the Bering Strait, Russia has abundant
reserves of oil, gas, metals and diamonds. But one precious resource is dwindling -
PEOPLE. Russia’s population has been sliding since 1993, when it numbered 148.3 million.
By 2000, it was down to 145.6 million, and the government predicts it will drop below 135
million in 2016. Russia has one of the world’s lowest birthrates - 1.17
children per woman. To keep the population level, its citizens would need to have
twice as many children. It has been estimated that 70 percent of all pregnancies
in Russia since 1994 have ended in abortion. Abortion is provided free on demand
during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. The Soviet Union was the first country in
the world to legalize abortion in 1920, and now only Romania has a greater number
of abortions per live births. The Russian population is said to be shrinking by
2,500 every day.

Clinton Attempted To Redefine "Fetus" And "Child"
Just prior to leaving office, former President Clinton proposed a federal regulation
that would have stated that a newborn child is still a "FETUS’ until it is determined
that the baby will live by "independently maintaining a heartbeat and respiration."
Only when this determination is made is the baby considered a "CHILD." Fortunately,
the Bush White House is going to eliminate the Clinton ruling. Parents will not have
to fear that their newborn who is suffering from heart problems or respiratory ailments
will be labeled as "FETUS DOE" while newborns are labeled as "BABY DOE."

Target Stops Giving Planned Parenthood
LIFE DECISIONS INTERNATIONAL (LDI) which organizes the nationwide
boycott of companies which donate to PLANNED PARENTHOOD, announced on February
21, 2001 that TARGET had been removed from the boycott list. Says Douglas Scott,
LDI President: "We at LDI are really, really picky. We require any corporation
that wants to be removed from THE BOYCOTT LIST to say things in just the right
way. After all, we don’t want them to have a rhetorical way out. Finally,
after more than a decade as a boycott target due to its support of PLANNED
PARENTHOOD, TARGET CORPORATION has been removed from the BOYCOTT LIST!!"
"Jane Roe" and "Mary Doe" Seek Overturn of 1973 Supreme Court Decision
The plaintiffs in the two landmark Supreme Court cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v.
Bolton, the two companion cases decided on January 22, 1973 which compelled legalized
abortion throughout the nation, appeared in Philadelphia on May 31, 2001 to personally
file friend of the court briefs with the United States Court of Appeals.
In their briefs they tell the courts why the decisions in their own landmark
cases have proven to be harmful to the rights of women and why the decisions in
their own cases should be overturned.
Norma McCorvey (Jane Roe in Roe v. Wade) and Sandra Cano (Mary Doe of Doe v. Bolton) are
filing their friend of the court briefs in the case of Donna Santa Marie, et al v. Christine
Todd Whitman, et al. The Santa Marie case is a federal class action suit brought by five
women (three of whom had abortions that were performed without voluntary or informed consent)
who argue that NEW JERSEY’S abortion laws violate the most important constitutional rights
of women. The Santa Marie plaintiffs have gained the notice of many women throughout
the country who feel they were mistreated by the abortion industry, and a new women’s
movement has begun behind their message.

More Americans Turning To Foreign Babies For Adoption
Americans are adopting fewer babies from home and increasingly turning abroad, where infants are
more readily available and adoptions can be less complicated, according to a report. More than
17 percent of children adopted by American parents in 1996 were born abroad, according to
the National Council on Adoption in a report which shows that the number of foreign
adoptions has more than doubled this decade. For infants, children under 2, international
adoptions account for nearly a third of the total, the report says. Fueled by well-publicized
horror stories, some prospective parents worry about complications with U.S. adoptions, such as
when birth parents change their minds after agreeing to an adoption. Such battles often end
up in court. "The attorney could simply say - and they do say: 'Hey, domestic adoption is
too risky. We can get you a healthy kid from Russia or China in six months.'" said William
Pierce, executive editor of the National Council for Adoption.
Life Dynamics Of Texas Attacks Planned Parenthood On Fetal Parts
Birth control and abortion powerhouse Plannd Parenthood has come under attack from Life Dynamics
of Denton, Texas for distributing the remains of children aborted at its "clinics" to pharmaceutical
companies and research institutes through third party companies that are responsible for the
dissection and shipment of bodies. Life Dynamics says Planned Parenthood is charging "site
fees" as part of "services rendered" to third-party companies, because the outright sale
of fetal parts is not allowed by law. Invoices have been obtained that show orders for whole
cadavers of preborn babies, as well as parts. Invoice demands require bodies and parts to be
packed in ice within ten minutes of an abortion and sent overnight via shipping companies.
Abortionists have been reported to have drowned, beat or suffocated infants who survived
partial-birth abortions in order to use their body parts. The sale of preborn babies is
potentially a lucrative business for Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers, with each
body reported to be worth thousands of dollars on the open "market". In contrast, a simple
abortion only nets $300 to $400.
China Rethinks Policy Of One-Child Families
The Chinese government, faced with a demographic imbalance, an aging population, youth suicides
and instances of wife selling, is rethinking its policy of one-child families. A new law on
birth control, to be passed within the next three years, will allow couples to have two
children. The one-child policy was begun by Mao Tse Tung in the late 1970s and was imposed with
harsh sanctions in all major cities. But despite the policy, China's population still grew
to 1.2 billion by 1998. Meanwhile, the population is aging, with the proportion of Chinese over
65 projected to reach 25 percent by 2050. There are over 30 million more men than women, and
wives are difficult to find, which has led to the phenomenon of wife selling (19,000 such
cases have been investigated in 1999). (In Taiwan, the government has started a compaign
among its population declaring that "three children are not too many!" Ten years ago, it had said that two
were enough.)
Cuban Christian Leader Persecuted For United Nations Statement
Dr. Oscar Biscet, President of Lawton Foundation for Human Rights, has been an outspoken
critic of human rights violations including abortion by the Castro regime. On November 16,
1998 Biscet publicly read an open letter to the United Nations, in which he said: "We
honor posthumously the thousands of innocent victims who have been assimilated in this
concrete pile (hospital) ... here as well as in other hospitals in Cuba. Day after day,
hundreds of children are sacrificed who were never given the opportunity to receive a
name, to hear a caressing word, nor feel the love of their mothers ... We say 'no' to
abortion and 'yes' to life." Less than two weeks after reading that statement, Biscet was
arrested, threatened and pressured to publicly retract what he had said. In response, Biscet
launched a 40-day fast on behalf of Cuba on June 7, 1999.
Zogby Poll Shows Growing Pro-Life Support
A recent Zogby International "American Values" poll shows the majority of Americans believe
abortion is manslaughter, oppose tax-funded partial birth abortions, and support the right of
parents to be notified if their minor daughter seeks an abortion. 77.7% said physicians
should notify parents if an underage girl is seeking an abortion. 56.4% oppose partial
birth abortion because it is "murder", except if the mother's life is in danger. 71% oppose
the use of federal funds for partial birth abortions. This poll and other recent polls reveal
a continuing trend supporting the pro-life positions on matters which have been before the
Congress, state legislatures, and the courts for more than two decades.
Threats To Adoption
"Watch for a well-organized, stealthy attempt by the anti-adoption movement to
eliminate confidentiality of adoption procedures. Under 'open records' laws
being pushed in Maryland, Missouri, Oregon and other states, adopted children would
be able to seek out their birth mothers and vice versa. (Tennessee has already enacted
a law, now tied up in court.) When Great Britain adopted such a law, infant
placements dropped 70% in ten years. Already, fears about future protection of records are
causing some families to adopt overseas. A lot more American children will languish in foster
care - or be snuffed out in the womb - if adoption loses its legal protections."
Depo-Provera - No Turning Back
According to the Canadian Coalition on Depo-Provera, following a single injection,
it can take up to one year for a woman's fertility to return to normal. While pointing
out the reversibility of NORPLANT, the IUD and oral contraceptives, the coalition said Depo-Provera
(made by Pharmacia & Upjohn) offers no easy escape for those who would change their minds.
"This drug has significant side effects - once it's in your system you can't get it out,"
says Madeline Boscoe, a nurse and one of the coalition's organizers. The group lobbied
the Canadian government to postpone approval of the drug because it had concerns about its side
effects and potential misuse as chemical imperialism against poor women. Boscoe, who
works at the Women's Health Clinic in Winnipeg, says Depo-Provera is prescribed to
"vulnerable" women as a means of population control.

Netherlands Plan To Legalize Mercy Killing Allowing Twelve-Year-Olds
To Receive Euthanasia
The Dutch government published plans on August 10, 1999 to legalize
mercy killings under guidelines which would allow children as young
as twelve to receive euthanasia. The plans are expected to gain
parliamentary approval in the year 2000 making Netherlands the first
country to legalize mercy killing. The guidelines would require that:
The patient make a voluntary and informed request. The patient
be suffering irremediable and unbearable pain. All other medical
options be exhausted. A second opinion be sought. The euthanasia be
"carefully carried out." "A child of 12 can't make decisions about
trivial things," Bert Dorenbos, leader of the largest anti-euthansia
group, SCREAM FOR LIFE, said. "Now he can decide about his own life or death.
It is totally absurd. The government is creating a judicial
monster."
