PERSISTENCE

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men of talent. Genius will not. . . the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "PRESS ON" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."
(Calvin Coolidge)

MORAL DECAY

"History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline."
(General Douglas MacArthur)

TWO GREAT VIRTUES

Human nature grows tired of always doing the same thing, and it is God’s will that this should be so because of the opportunity of practicing two great virtues. The first is PERSEVERANCE, which will bring us to our goal. The other is STEADFASTNESS, which overcomes the difficulties on the way.
(St. Vincent de Paul)

KILLED IN AN ABORTUARY

"THEY WILL ACCEPT THE LETHAL INJECTION"

GERMAN PROVERB

When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost.

(German Proverb)

MAINSTREAM WILL NOT DO

If, as the Americans United for Life poll shows, 54 percent of Americans think that pro-lifers are extremists, then everyone in the pro-life movement should pat himself or herself on the back. If the unborn are to have any chance of obtaining their rights, they are going to need extremists fighting on their behalf. "Mainstream" will not do, especially when one considers the arsenal of talent and money that the pro-abortionists have at their disposal. Only an extreme effort will keep the plight of the unborn before Americans' eyes. . . Can pro-lifers be anything less than extreme?

"WE'RE HAVING CHILDREN"

"WE'RE HAVING CHILDREN. . . THE PRO-ABORTION PEOPLE ARE KILLING ALL OF THEIRS. WE'RE GOING TO OUTNUMBER THEM ONE OF THESE DAYS. JUST GIVE US A LITTLE TIME."

(Paul Bruch, Connecticut RTL)

THE GREATEST THING OF ALL

The greatest thing is, not that one shall become a scientist, as great as that is; nor that one shall be a statesman, vastly important as that is; nor even that one shall be a theologian, immeasurably important as that is; but the greatest thing of all is for one human being to bring another to Christ Jesus, the Savior.

(Ligman Beecher)

PEACE

First keep the peace within yourself, then you can also bring peace to others.

(Thomas A Kempis)

YOUR CONVERSATION

For good or ill, your conversation is your advertisement. Every time you open your mouth, you let me look into your mind.

(Bruce Barton)

THE ART OF TAXATION

"The art of taxation consists in so plucking the goose as to obtain the largest possible amount of feathers with the smallest possible amount of hissing."

(Jean Baptiste Colbert, attributed, circa 1665)

BIRTH CONTROL PILLS CAUSE "AGING" OF A WOMAN’S UTERUS

A general rule of thumb is that for every year a woman takes the pill, her uterus ages two years. Women, especially young women under the age of 25, taking the pill have a considerably higher rate of cancer, especially breast and cervical cancers, than women who don’t take the pill. INCREASED RATES OF VASCULAR DISEASES, CANCERS AND DIABETES ALL SUGGEST THAT OUR SELF-RADIATION WITH BIRTH CONTROL CHEMICALS IS CAUSING AN OVERALL LIFE SHORTENING. Fibromyalgia, a "new" disease identified in 1976, thirteen years after the pill was introduced, manifests itself by causing many "old-age" symptoms such as chronic pain, rheumatism, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome. FIBROMYALGIA OCCURS ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY IN WOMEN WHO HAVE TAKEN THE PILL."

I AM DISTINCTIVELY MALE

I am distinctively male, and it has been proposed to me that I should keep my mouth shut with respects to abortion because of this. I have been told that since I am a man, I cannot have a say in an issue that only concerns women. IS THAT SO?

Did you know that studies show that 88% of abortions were forced by a male who pressures to avoid the responsibility of a child? (source Fredericka Matthews-Green, Real Choices). This is true, whether it is a teacher, a doctor, but more likely a father or a partner, the woman is usually NOT the one that makes the "choice." This is an issue that concerns males just as much as females; the individuals who become terminated are of both genders after all, not to mention they are the children of a man and a woman.

EXCERPTS FROM COURAGE - YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
(Christopher News Notes, 12 E. 48th St., New York, N. Y. 10017 - February 1992)

Robert Louis Stevenson wrote such classic adventure tales as Kidnapped and Treasure Island. In his spare time he enjoyed canoeing, sailing, hiking and travel. But it is not widely known that he suffered through years of illness, including tuberculosis, before he died at age 44 following a stroke. He spoke of waking up sick and retiring weary, for many years. Daily living itself had become an act of bravery. "YET THE BATTLE STILL GOES ON" I WAS MADE FOR A CONTEST, AND THE POWERS-THAT-BE HAVE WILLED THAT MY BATTLEFIELD SHALL BE THE INGLORIOUS ONE OF THE BED AND THE MEDICINE BOTTLE.". . . For each of us, courage means finding the spiritual and mental determination to bear discomfort, to persevere despite danger or difficulty. "YOU GAIN STRENGTH, COURAGE AND CONFIDENCE BY EVERY EXPERIENCE IN WHICH YOU REALLY STOP TO LOOK FEAR IN THE FACE," said Eleanor Roosevelt. "YOU MUST DO THE THING YOU CANNOT DO." Rosina Hernandez watched in horror as a car spun out of control and plunged into Miami’s Biscayne Bay. She dove in, swam to the car, and began a rescue effort that would save a trapped man. Rosina’s courage had its roots in an incident ten years before: As a college student at a concert, she saw one young man brutally beat another while no on intervened. Later, she learned the victim had died. The future social worker promised herself she would never again stand by and do nothing if by acting she might save a life. She kept her word. . .

Making A Poor Man Rich

"I remember a great man coming into my house, at Waltham, and seeing all my children standing in the order of their age and stature, said: ‘These are they that make rich men poor." But he straight received this answer: "Nay, my lord, these are they that make a poor man rich; for there is not one of these whom we would part with for all your wealth."

(Joseph Hall, 1574-1656)

How Abortion Hurts Men

Pro-lifers have long maintained that many suffer from the abortion choice. While the mother and her unborn child are obvious victims, surveys increasingly document the effect on men . . .Of 1050 men interviewed by the Los Angeles Times, two-thirds of those who acknowledged having fathered an aborted child said they felt guilty about it, and one-third had feelings of regret. These rates surpassed those found among post-abortive women. Because the law systematically excludes a man from his wife’s (or partner’s) decision to abort, women only consult their child’s father 43 percent of the time. Sociologists warn that men who aren’t encouraged to mourn over an abortion are learning how to be even less involved as nurturing parents in the future.
